Why preinsulated pipes?
- High quality and long life.
- Insulation of pipes is made of components that are resistant to most of the possible chemicals in ground. This is why the lifetime of pipes can reach up to 50 years in operation.
- Pipes are produced in Europe in accordance with highest technical standards of European Union – EN253, EN448, EN488, EN489. Standard EN253 requests for preinsulated pipes at least 30 years of operation at 120 oC.
- Pipes are safe to use and do not require repairs, if mounted correctly and operated according to technical instructions. There are certain standards for all the mounting operations of preinsulated pipes. This assures quality and long lifetime of mounted pipelines. We can help our clients to choose the right subcontractor for mounting pipes. Well mounted pipes do not break due to temperature changes in summer or winter, temperature or pressure changes of the flow in pipe. We provide a user’s manual for all the products to ensure long life of product in operation.
- Due to insulation, temperature losses are minimized
- Hot water in pipes remains hot, cold water remains cold. Usually the thicker the insulation, the lower the losses, but there are also other components to be noted, as pressure in pipe and speed of flow. Out of 3 types of insulation, normally in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania pipes with „2nd insulation type” are used.
- Environmentally friendly
- Pipes and the components are recycable,
- Due to combination of „pipe+insulation+outer casing”, insulated pipes are in operation much longer than standard pipes, therefore in the long run less material is used,
- Preinsulated pipes are like thermos – environment remains safe from extreme temperatures of the fluids flowing in pipes. On their surface pipes have temperature, which is very close to temperature of the environment. Temperature depends on the chosen thickness of insulation, on temperature and time how long fluid flows in the pipe.
- In case of leaking, preinsulated pipes in short term minimize damage to environment, as preinsulated pipes have inner and outer shell and material of insulation can absorb part of leaking fluids,
- Pipelines can be monitored by computer
- Preinsulated pipes are produced with built-in wiring, which enables to monitor mounted pipelines electronically, using a computer. Computer can indicate the quality of the pipeline system and the leaking place in case of an accident. Note: such computer systems usually are more effective in larger networks (more than 1 km).
- Can be used in different temperatures and conditions.
- There are several, standardized thicknesses of insulation, depending on outer environment. The most popular type in Estonia is „2nd insulation type”. Pipes we provide are compatible with old Soviet time networks and new networks.
- Pipes are strong and ready to serve for a long time. In case of extreme temperatures and conditions, as for steam, special pipes are available.
- There are pipes available for small district heating boiler houses and for large district heating plants; there are all necessary types of pipes requested on the market, including new twin pipes and flexible pipes. Of course also standard straight pipes are available, which are resistant to high temperatures and pressure. The diameter of available pipes varies from several centimetres up to one metre.
